Justine Pimlott







 

Justine Pimlott is a multiple award-winning Producer, most recently honoured with a prestigious Peabody Award for Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story.  Her latest production Parade: Queer Acts of Love & Resistance was selected as the Opening Night Film for Hot Docs 2025. With more than 25 years in the industry, Justine has a long and distinguished track record of bringing marginalized stories to the screen. In 2003, she co-founded Red Queen Productions – a pioneering out and proud LGBTQ owned production company in Canada – with filmmaker Maya Gallus. At Red Queen, Justine produced and directed a body of ground breaking work that challenges gender norms and amplifies LGBTQ+ stories.  Justine spent the last decade as a producer at the NFB Ontario Studio where she continued to prioritize and support filmmakers and stories from underrepresented communities, including A Mother Apart, The Nest, Boat People, A Better Man, among many others.  Pimlott now returns to Red Queen as an Executive Producer, Producer and also working as an independent consultant.
